ORLANDO ULTIMATE

The 4 members of the Horizontal Stack make piston cuts up and down the field.

When a pass is completed to a member of the stack, they can easily dump to a trailing handler or complete to a teammate downfield.

One player is the key.  Everyone else cuts of the Key.

To start if the Key’s defender fronts him, he should cut deep.  If the defender is playing behind the Key, he cuts in.

If Key cuts in, Player next to him cuts deep.

Horizontal

These are a few basic plays and formations beyond a standard stack or zone.  There are many variations and options that can be run off of these.

Set Plays

The two inside members of the Horizontal Stack are cutting in a box fashion.

One outside member is making piston cuts down the sideline.

One outside member is cutting deep and then crossfield to the open space.

Ho-Box

Each side of the split stack is cutting in a triangular pattern to the middle and then back outside.

The deep triangle cuts on the weak side (opposite the disc) have the following options:

  1. 1.Cut back into another triangle.

  2. 2.Cut deep (fly pattern)

  3. 3.Cut deep across the field (to open space on strong side)
